Prora is a beach resort on the island of Rügen, Germany. It is known for the enormous Nazi-planned tourist structures. It was built between 1936 and 1939 as a Strength Through Joy project. There are eight identical buildings, and they were planned as a holiday resort but they were never used for this purpose. It has a formal heritage listing as a striking example of Third Reich architecture.
